Concert for Mental Health: Birmingham Festival Choral Society
Still to go
A free concert supporting @Ease for young people
Join us for an unforgettable evening of choral music and community spirit! The Birmingham Festival Choral Society (BFCS) is touring Europe from 27–30 May 2026, performing in Liège, Maastricht, and Namur. On 28 May, the BFCS will perform at Sint Janskerk in Maastricht at 20:00. This is a free concert, but at the end of the performance, we invite you to make a donation to a meaningful cause: @Ease, the University of Maastricht’s foundation supporting young people aged 12–25 who face challenges when “life doesn’t quite go as planned.” Experience world-class music while making a real impact in your community.
The BFCS is one of the United Kingdom’s oldest and most prestigious choirs, with a history of commissioning works from 19th-century composers like Mendelssohn, Gounod, Dvořák, and Elgar. Their repertoire spans from classical masterpieces by Bach to contemporary works, opera choruses, jazz, and folk music, offering something for every music lover. This tour features David Wynne, conductor and director of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, soprano Alexandra Wynne, and organist Kevin Gill, fellow of the Royal College of Organists. Together, they bring a unique combination of talent, passion, and artistry to each performance.

All donations collected during the Maastricht concert will directly support @Ease, helping young people access mental health resources and guidance when life gets tough. The concert is expected to last approximately 75 minutes, without intermission, providing a powerful and immersive musical experience. Every contribution, big or small, helps ensure that more young people can find the support they need.
BFCS has a long tradition of supporting charitable causes both at home and abroad. Past tours have raised funds for community projects across Europe, and this year they are proud to partner with local mental health initiatives. Special thanks to Dr. Martin Desseilles for introducing the choir to contacts in Liège, Maastricht, and Namur universities.
Be part of an evening of extraordinary music and help young people thrive. Come, listen, and donate, because together, we can make a difference.

UM Crowd is part of the Limburg University Fund/SWOL. This fund is a recognized Public Benefit Organization (ANBI). This means that your donation is fully or partially tax-deductible. After your donation, you will automatically receive an email containing proof of payment.
