Week 5 Recap: Filming, New Equipment, and Outreach Momentum
Last week the amount of team members present in Maastricht doubled — and with it, our motivation and enthusiasm to our research. As a team, we mainly focused on the filming of the promotion video that has to be submitted to iGEM this upcoming week. In the dry lab, we managed to optimize some gBlock core sequences to be able to order their manufacture.
Regarding our outreach efforts, we continue sending emails for potential participants in future events. We also agreed on the design of the logo for our team, proudly revealed a few days ago.
On the funding side, we continue emailing companies looking for new sponsorship opportunities. Specifically this week we targeted car renting companies with the aim of enabling them to collaborate with us to facilitate our trip to the Jamboree in October.
In the wet lab, we received two new machines from one of our sponsors — QIAGEN. We hope these machines will help us be more productive in our work in the lab and reduce the chances of human error when doing our research.
Finally, the wiki team continued working on building up the website.
